Poetry 2020

Poetry 2020 – visualizing the digital background and digital communication, which seems ephemeral, is difficult to put into shape and observe from the outside, being in the flow. An audio-visual narrative is built on the example of virtual interaction between two strangers of different cultures. With the constant transformation of sound into picture and picture into sound, a new portrait of modern human is being assembled.

Generative code turns personal photos into technical noise, supplemented by audio stories. After sound editing, the audio is transformed back into a certain image, using the generative program. The process is impossible without the participation of a machine and a person, because a person controls just the arrangement and aesthetics of sound in this situation. The chamber visual portrait of digital relations between two people living on different continents, thinking in different languages, but using the same means to interact with each other, also focuses on the relationship between the human and non-human, revealing a harmonious and subtle coexistence, a dialogue between digital, technology, and human.

The materialization of sounds taken from photographs and audio messages was made possible by constant audio-visual transcoding and fixing in physical form with the help of manual printing by silkscreen printing.
